FU--Z.Y. The President and Trustees of Columbia University mourn the loss of one of the University's most forward-thinking benefactors, Z.Y. Fu. His many contributions to the University include a transformative gift to Columbia's engineering school, which was named The Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science in his honor in 1997. The extraordinary generosity of Mr. Fu and The Fu Foundation has had a profound impact on Columbia's role as a global leader in science and technology. We send our deepest condolences to his wife, Joan; his brother-in-law, Dr. C.K. "John" Chu '06HON, professor emeritus of applied mathematics and chairman emeritus of the Department of Applied Physics and Applied Mathematics at The Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science; and other members of the family. Lee C. Bollinger, President, and The Trustees of Columbia University
