Shi Receives Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Students Abroad

Chenyang Shi, a Ph.D. candidate in Materials Science and Engineering in Prof. Simon Billinge's group, is a recipient of a Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Students Abroad.
"The Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Students Abroad is a scholarship set up by the China Scholarship Council (CSC) to honor overseas Chinese students with outstanding academic accomplishments. Established in 2003, this award was developed to encourage research excellence and to recognize the achievements among Chinese students abroad. This award includes a $6,000 prize and a CSC-issued certificate."
Chenyang received the award at a ceremony and reception held at the Chinese Consulate General in New York on Friday, April 17, 2015.
