The Columbia University Initiative on Extreme Weather & Climate presented a workshop on “Extreme Weather & Climate: Hazards, Impacts, Actions.” This workshop featured 15 speakers (including Adam Sobel, Michael Tippett, and Tim Hall) from across Columbia University’s many schools and centers, providing an interdisciplinary experience for participants interested in extreme weather and climate. Speakers touched on a wide range of topics, such as hurricanes and droughts, disease transmission, and energy resilience, and were featured in 20 minute sessions, with breaks and discussion sessions throughout the day.
