Keyes Named 2011 SIAM Fellow

David E. Keyes was named a 2011 SIAM Fellow.

David Keyes has been the Fu Foundation Professor of Applied Mathematics in the Department of Applied Physics and Applied Mathematics at Columbia University since 2003. He also holds several faculty affiliate positions at the U.S. Department of Energy's national laboratories. In 2009, he became the inaugural Chair, now Dean, of the Division of Mathematical and Computer Sciences and Engineering at KAUST. Keyes earned a B.S.E. in Aerospace and Mechanical Sciences and a Certificate in Engineering Physics from Princeton University. He received his Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from Harvard University in 1984. He was affiliated with Yale University from 1984 to 1993, before joining Old Dominion University and ICASE at the NASA Langley Research Center. At Old Dominion, he was a professor of mathematics and statistics and founding Director of the Center for Computational Science.
