Navratil and Garofalo Win APS Dawson Award

Interim Dean Gerald A. Navratil, Thomas Alva Edison Professor of Applied Physics, and Andrea Garofalo, Research Scientist and Adjunct Associate Professor of Applied Physics, were honored, together with their colleagues, Michio Okabayashi of Princeton and Edward J. Strait of General Atomics, for excellence in plasma physics research as awardees of the 2007 John Dawson Award for Excellence in Plasma Physics Research given by the American Physical Society Division of Plasma Physics at its annual meeting in November. They are standing in front of a cross-section model of the DIII-D Tokamak fusion energy experiment at General Atomics in San Diego.
