Tian '17 Named Sloan Fellow and Received an NSF Career Award

Dr. Xiaochuan Tian (PhD  2017, Applied Mathematics) was named a 2023 Sloan Fellow. In addition, Dr. Tian also recently received an NSF Career Award.

Dr. Tian earned her Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from Columbia University in 2017 where she worked with Professor Qiang Du. She is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at UC San Diego. She works in numerical analysis and the focus of her work is on the analysis and computation of non-local models, as well as both applied and fractional PDEs and multiscale modeling.
